Project Rainbow is a VR project created by YSJ VR&AR master’s students Thomas White and James Moore, a team in collaboration with Caroline's Rainbow Foundation and XR Stories internships. The primary goal of the project was to develop an immersive VR experience that could aid travelers and help them stay safe while on their journeys.
To achieve this, the team built multiple travel scenarios that players can play through and learn from, using a custom dialogue system. The team wanted to give a classic dialogue system a new VR spin to make it simple and easy for the players to use. By using the dialogue system, players can play through the scenarios and see the end result of their choices.
The team made sure that the VR experience was not only a great learning tool but also engaging. To achieve this, they developed multiple dialogue options and responses and made various objects in the environment interactive. The project has been showcased in VR headsets at various educational venues.
